With the greatest vertical and most terrain of the Lake Tahoe area ski resorts stands Heavenly. It is, we assume, a tax accountants’ nightmare, straddling the California-Nevada border. In our minds there’s an old timey burglary and the ski-villain needs to escape. The authorities are eyeing them from the chair behind and the race is on to get over the border into Nevada and freedom. Of course, that probably is not the most efficient path to freedom so if you need to escape into Nevada for nefarious reasons there’s probably a more direct, albeit less comical route. With 4,800 acres of skiable terrain serviced by 28 lifts this mountain is for everyone. From 38 miles of cruising groomers to world class trees and cliffs, this resort is a sure stop for anyone exploring the Tahoe area – and fictional ski villains needing an escape into Nevada.
