the mountain in a nutshell.

Castle Mountain Resort is quite possibly the reason the term "hidden gem" came to be. "Hidden" because this resort is literally located in the middle of nowhere in Southern Alberta, and "gem" because it boasts an epic 3,592 acres of some of the best skiing in the province, maybe even the country. And when we say epic, we mean epic. This is not your laid back mountain for beginners and intermediates. Almost 70% of the terrain is advanced, not to mention the skill you need to mount the ancient chair lifts found here. But harrowing, windy chairlifts aside, they lead you to some of the best powder laps you may ever experience.

Castle Mountain also is home to an onsite CAT-skiing operation, Powder Stagecoach. So, if you're not happy enough with the incredible resort laps you'll find, take it to the next level on the Stagecoach and get lost in some seriously deep snow. Besides the Stagecoach, there isn't much around that you would typically think to find at a "resort" but hey, no complaining when there are freshies waiting to be skied. If you ask us, we'd take the epic laps over a fancy resort any day of the week.
