the mountain in a nutshell.

Nestled of the flank of the formidable stratovolcano of Mt. Hood (yea, skiing on a volcano is insanely cool) is Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort. The resort is lovingly dubbed "Shreadows" with its abundance of slackcountry options to hike to. But more casual skiings don't fret, the resort has a great mix of casual cruisers and some well designed parks and pipes for those lovely park rats we all love. While the lift infrastructure is on point, beware of Mt. Hood's lofty prominence - it's not just a show-off; it brings wind and weather that can shut down lifts and limit the terrain. Let's just count it lucky that the crazy weather is limited to wind and snow and not something a little more "explosive" with it being on a dormant volcano.
