the mountain in a nutshell.

The Southernmost stop on the Powder Highway belongs non other than one of the oldest ski operations in North America: RED Mountain Resort. RED Mountain has a rich history, a huge skiable area of 3,850 acres, and 890 metres (2,919 ft.) of vertical drop and yet, the resort is bafflingly unburdened by large crowds. I mean RED Mountain offers $10/run in-bounds CAT-skiing for crying out loud!  We won't try to understand why this ancient gem remains off many skiers radars, but we will enjoy the short lift lines while they last.

Speaking of lifts, RED Mountain is serviced by 7 fixed-grip lifts that looks like they belong in a museum and boy do their looks match their speeds. Going so slow that you might be passed by the CATs beneath you, make sure you make friends with whoever you're riding the lift with, because you are in it for the literal long haul. Overall, RED Mountain's terrain makes it worth the wait boasting some of the best on-resort expert terrain British Columbia has to offer.
