While the Big White Ski Resort isn't as "big" compared to a Whistler or Lake Louise, its 2,765 acres of terrain, 118 trails and 16 lifts are nothing to be sneezed at. Its a perfect haven for the intermediate skier who is looking to escape the nearby city of Kelowna and loves a healthy dose of groomed runs, But be warned! The moderate terrain of Big White can easily become challenging when the mountain's visibility drops during what the locals call a "Big White Out". As annoying as the foggy conditions can be, when the fog finally recedes those who have ventured to the peak will enjoy the experience of weaving between the hauntingly beautiful snow ghosts. So pack up your low light goggles and go experience a mountain that certainly lives up to its name.
