Located a short drive north of Salt Lake City Powder Mountain offers over 8,484 acres of skiable* terrain, making it one of the largest ski resorts in North America. Its 154 trails are serviced by nine lifts. If you hate lines and crowds maybe turn around at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon and head up to Powder Mountain. They limit the number of passes sold each day to help ensure you never ski over a set of tracks on a powder day. And if you truly hate interacting with others that much (or just love it steep and deep) Powder Mountain hosts one of the largest snowcat operations this side of the Atlantic.
*They actually claim they’re the largest which is *technically true* if you consider their skiable terrain as including their snowcat operations. Whistler we will give the crown to there because they’re just shy of Powder Mountain’s with only their lift served terrain. Plus, they have heli and cat terrain...
